Romino, the developer behind the recent PSN release Awesomenauts, hinted a few days ago that DLC may be coming soon. Teaser images released by Romino reveal a new female playable character, but this may not be the only thing to look forward to. One of the sleuths over on the GameFaqs forums appears to have uncovered more content in the game’s data files.
GameFaqs user Mirror B uncovered sprites and statistics for two new characters: Coco Nebulon, who looks surprisingly like the girl in the aforementioned teaser; and Derpl Zork, a rather oafish thing in a combat walker. When it comes to combat, Coco is said to focus on ranged attacks while Derpl soaks up damage, sets turrets, and unleashes something called an “explosive holocat.”
This news may come as a surprise considering Awesomenauts publisher DTP filed for insolvency just before the game’s release, but Ronimo insists that the game is doing fine and that updates to fix minor bugs are on the way as well. No official word has been given concerning the two characters, but fans should keep an eye on PSN Fans for more information.
